Position

The Sustainability Marketing Specialist is responsible for implementing strategies to educate stakeholders and promote the company's sustainability initiatives and achievements, as well as enhancing the brand reputation and awareness among internal and external stakeholders. The sustainability marketing business associate will report to the sustainability director and will work closely with the marketing, communications, product development, and sustainability teams to create and execute campaigns, events and content that showcase the company's commitment to environmental, social, and governance issues.

As a part of this role, the successful candidate will participate in our Business Associate Program, which is designed for ambitious, high-performing individuals. You will join a cohort of Business Associates to learn different facets of the business. Responsibilities:

  • Build upon and execute sustainability brand strategy and campaigns across multiple channels

  • Create and manage sustainability brand assets, such as logos, guidelines, templates, and collateral, presentations and SharePoint.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external partners to amplify the company's sustainability message and reach.

  • Ensure consistency and alignment of the sustainability messages and branding across all communication channels and materials across North America.

  • Provide guidance and support to other teams and departments (marketing, corporate communications, HR, brand teams, commercial teams, category management and other stakeholders) on sustainability branding and communications.

  • Support stakeholders by creating relevant content on current topics, reviewing product labels and marketing claims, creating awareness with collateral and sharing legislation insights.

  • Collaborate with the sustainability team members and other internal and external stakeholders to identify and showcase impactful sustainability stories, best practices, and achievements.

  • Lead and manage sustainability marketing projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they meet the objectives, scope, budget, timeline, and quality standards.

  • Coordinate with and influence cross functional teams to embed sustainability practices in their functions and share their continuous progress.

  • Lead reporting and communication for other sustainability-related reports, ratings, rankings and surveys.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, sustainability, or related field required.

  • 3+ years of experience in branding, marketing, or communications required.

  • Experience working in a corporate environment preferred.

  • Experience and deep understanding of marketing, communication and reporting best practices.

  • Ability to understand, clearly communicate and present complex messages to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders in a simple, compelling and technically accurate manner.

  • Strong knowledge and passion for sustainability issues and trends.

  • Curious, creative and strategic thinker, with the ability to develop and execute innovative and impactful campaigns and solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Attention to detail and quality, and the ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.

  • Graphic design skills highly desirable.

  • Proficient in using various tools and platforms for sustainability branding and communications, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and social media management tools.
